Early College Program

Course Location Options

Oakton offers classes for high school students online, on our campuses, and at in-district high schools.

You can take one Oakton course per semester at our Des Plaines or Skokie campus or online if you:

(1) are a high school junior or senior,
(2) have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or higher,
(3) submit an application (for concurrent enrollment) at least one week before the first day of the course(s) you want to take. (Be sure to check our academic calendar for class locations and start/end dates.)

After you have applied, you can connect with the Oakton Enrollment Center for help with registration! You will automatically earn college credit after successfully completing courses at Oakton or online. You should connect with your school counselor for high school credit approval (dual credit).

If you attend a partner high school, you could take Oakton courses at your school location that:

(1) are taught by qualified district instructors,
(2) occur during your regular high school schedule,
(3) allow you to earn college and high school credit (dual credit)!

In some cases, you may have Oakton course options taught by Oakton professors at your school location, at Oakton, or online as dual credit or dual enrollment!

"If you are passionate about something, take action. You don't have to wait. I realized I could really help people if I became a nurse. My counselor told me I could enroll in Oakton's Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT) program while I was still in high school."
